Canada is at it again... !!

Canada does that again...

Canada has yet again denied visas to several retired and serving army officials. They even did so with a retired IB officer. The grounds for doing so was that these officials are or were involved with organisations that maybe involved in terrorists activites !

Canada has previously denied visas in 2008-09 to three serving brigadiers because they had served in the J&K grid. They deny visas citing their Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, which bars members from organisations that have or will engage in terrorism.

After a retired Border Security Force officer complained about it, the ministry has lodged a protest with Canadian high commissioner. Senior security officials said that if government did not get Canada to apologise and withdraw remarks, it wont be easy for Canadians to visit India and even the ones without visas might be sent back from airport for security reasons.

This incident is a clear example of the discriminatory behaviour of foreign countries with Indians. I do support taking precautionary measure and following all the security norms but this is not the way. It is by all means an incident of covering one's discriminatory and unfair behaviour under law and security rules. They are bending and making use security guidelines in a wrong way fulfill their ulterior motives. It is about time govenment comes strongly ahead and raises its voice against all the wrong doings that are happening with Indians in foreign countries and their government.

Corporate Networking !!

Networking is now no more going to be related to our personal lives alone. After social networking now is the turn for Office Networking !

Yes... An all new service Chatter is going to be launched to facilitate Office Networking. Chatter is inspired by the most popular social networking site Facebook and looks a lot like Facebook. But what differentiates them is that latter is for Social networking and is about our personal lives and people, whereas, former is for Office networking and concerns with our work life.

This sure is going to change the way work is done at offices and the exchange of information between colleagues. It can boost productivity and can be time-saving in passing information and updates on project and work.

There are companies like Dell and Bank of America who have tried a similar kind of service now known as "Collaboration Cloud" which enables the employees to connect to customers, employers,partners and colleagues working in different departments just like the way we connect to family and friends on facebook.

Strong points that seem to make chatter score over age-old way of communicating among colleagues and bosses through email are :

1) Feeds will help to share status of projects in a similar way as status messages.

2) Comments and Suggestions on work.

3) Progress of task can be tracked.

4) Documents can be collaborated.

5) Instead of attaching documents in emails we can post links to documents.

6) Collaborative software can help to include feeds from social sites like twitter.

7) Even customers can give their ideas and feedback to product developers.

In place of interests and games tabs Chatter will have tabs like opportunities, accounts, contents and dashboard view of of project or teams.

What will remain common between Facebook and Chatter will be Profiles and Groups.

A Mumbai-based company Ffreedom is already using and benefitting from its use. Also, email volumes have gone down by 40% in companies where the trail was done.

Guess its time to do away with loads of labels and mails with documents attached at workplace and work without any hassels of managing the clutter of mails. Its easy, organised, quick and very well connected to all the people concerned !

And the Flight Crashes....

One horrible news waited for all the Indians as it was time for them to get up on Saturday early Morning. An Air India Express plane crashed on Saturday morning when it overshot the runway in Mangalore. The plane was to carry 175 people including the crew but 9 people missed the plane. At the time of crash 166 people were on the plane out of which 158 people died. Utter chaos prevailed even as everyone was trying to find out the what exactly led to the plane crash.

This plane crash was indeed an unfortunate and ghastly incident but there were some stories related to it that must have made every one pause for a while and get those goosebumps in their stomachs and tears in their eyes !

There were some harrowing stories like :

::: One such story was of a little girl who was excitedly waiting for her father, Abdul Samad, whom she was to see after 3 years. She could not sleep all night in excitement because her father had promised her a surprise gift and she kept wondering all night what gift it would be. Imagine how disheartening it is for us when our expectations are not met and to think of that little girl who had waited for so long to get nothing but loosing her father forever. Instead of receiving her smiling father, she and her mother had to go identify Abdul Samad's body between all those charred bodies. How Mrs. Samad must have consoled and convinced her children after all this?

::: There was another person Mr. Sameer Seikh who was coming back to attend the last rituals of her grandmother who dies on Friday and lost his own life and 16 family members too !

::: Siddique Sulaiman was to reach India to attend his father's burial in Kerala. And now his family is busy with the burial of two in place of one !

Something good happened with few Lucky ... they did not board the flight !

::: Nine people who missed the flight were either late to catch the flight or their employers made them work overtime and stay back cancelling their trip. Come to think of it, we all are always complaining about our work, but these people were thanking their employers for making them stay back.

Guess everything that happens is good for us but without realizing that we are always cribbing about something or the other which happens to us.

As always the reasons are yet to be confirmed for the crash and government and Air India is busy clearing their stand. Worst is, Black Box which carries all the data and recordings during the flight are yet to be found. Black boxes are orange in colour and have FDR (Flight Data Recorder) plus CVR (Cockpit Voice Recorder). They are made to withstand extreme heat, crash and pressure. They are missing !

Fascinating Technology !!

Technology has always been fascinating and amazes me every time ! It has become such an indispensable part of our lifestyle that without technology we cant even think about living our lives... and the ever interesting innovations makes it even more desirable.

Google has come up with the new idea of " Google TV " and has called it the wedding of Web and the TV !

The concept that lies behind Google TV is integration of TV and Web search on a TV ! In this, the TV will be having an on-screen search box, just like on the Google web site. This search box will access Google's search engine to look through the live performances, recordings and videos to provide a compact search result which can further be accessed just with the push of a button !

Along with Google the companies which are making this Google TV a reality are - Adobe, Logitech, Best Buy, Disk Network, Sony and Intel, Dish network. To actually get working with this kind of TV there is a lot that needs to be done. As integration of Web and TV will mean different chips, satellite, devices and appliances to be made in accordance and get working. And the most challenging will be to synchronize the age old technology with the new one. The previous attempts had failed because of three main reasons : 1) Dumbing down the web for the television, 2) Closed participation, and 3) Either TV or Web to be used not both together.

The companies that have come together for this Google talk have different tasks at hand which are listed below :

~~ SONY will build devices that will be marketed as Sony Internet TV's !
~~ INTEL will design the ATOM processors that will power the Sony Internet TV's !
~~ LOGITECH International will create a Google TV appliance that can work with current high-definition TV's !
~~ BEST BUY will be involved in selling the devices !
~~ DISH Network will integrate its satellite television service into Google TV !

Seems like a giant task ahead yet one helluva technology advancement to be seen in the near future ! Exciting isnt ??

Sports n not Just Cricket !!

Its gr8 to see Indians making a name for themselves in Sports in its real sense... Otherwise it was just Cricket that Indians knew in the name of Sports !!

Indians taking interest and actually coming forward to take up various games is the sign of progression in sports. And add to that them winning and holding top positions is overwhelming.

There are many events which can be named here to support the above :

1) Seema Tomar on 18th May, 2010 i.e. Tuesday won Silver at the World Cup in Britain. She is the first lady shotgun shooter from India to win World Cup Medal !
2) Karun Chandhok : India's sole representative at motor sport's highest stage, Formula One !
3) Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore : Indian shooter who won silver in men's double in Olympics !
4) Abhinav Bindra : Indian shooter who is current World and Olympic champion !
5) Vijender Singh : First ever Boxer to win an Olympic medal !

Achievements like this by enthusiastic Indians and the passion to do something in different field and sports is sure to take India's name to the new heights in Sports. The new generation is experimenting and looking towards various options and honing their skills in sports of their interest. They are taking up their dream sports and moving ahead in it passionately, which is overwhelming to see !!

Many more achievements to go for India....

Irony.... of Human Behaviour !!

Irony is my favourite !! It adds a bit of humour to life... and can be very easily found in behaviour of people and life in general. Though we do not realise that it exists so commonly !
Irony basically means a situation or a behaviour or a sentence where what is happening or said is exactly the opposite of what is intended. Its like preaching what we dont practice or believe in !! There is always a concealed meaning behind the ironical situations or words ...

The incident I am referring to here is funny yet very subtly points towards the presence and inherent irony in our lives and behaviour...
As we all know about and are eager for the coming Commonwealth Games in October, of which the preparations are in full swing. Every day there is one or the other incident relating to it... This one is also about the Commonwealth Games and the ministers taking care of the preparations for the Games !!

Delhi's Social Welfare Minister, Mr. Mangatram Singhal was present at a five star hotel to attend some function. At the gate of the hotel, his car was stopped by the security officials for the mandatory security check. This was very much a routine security check and should have in no way hurt the sentiments of Mr. Singhal as it was not a disrespect to a person of his stature. Infact he should have been co-operative with the security personnel to avoid any mishap. But true to a politician's temperament he took it as an offence to his position and demonstrated his displeasure over it. So finally, not letting the security check to be carried out !

Now, while he was attending the function at that particular five-star hotel he and the government inspectors were checking out the electrical fittings and furniture at the hotel. They also checked the quality of the food there as the dry run for the CWG. They took interest in the affairs at the hotel. But the hotel did not found it offending instead were appreciative of the initiative by the officials.

I wonder if Mr.Singhal ever wondered if hotel would not have been appreciative and would have reacted the way he did at the security check. The hotel could have felt that the officials are doubting their services and quality and could have taken it as an insult to the hotel standards. Isn't ironical on his part to check the food and things around when he despises the normal routine security check for his car.

This kind of irony prevails in our lives and behaviour everyday as we overlook things that are wrong with us yet find the same faults with others !! This is what adds humour to our lives as we laugh at such incidents.... but never look forward to improve on these small things which can make a huge difference in everybody's lives !!

Policemen : To blv or not to blv ??

U can Put the blame on them.... U can put the blame on them...

Policemen really have a tough job... never ever it has been the case in which police officers came out clean...

Whatever they do it is never enough and appreciated... Most of it can be attributed to the irresponsible behaviour many of them show every now and then. I agree they have given us many reasons and many a times have failed to live up to the trust shown in them but then it must be kept in mind not all of them are like that and they are not wrong in all the cases.

One such case that happened recently was of an Islamic teacher Mr.Nurul Huda who was detained after being pulled from an Emirates flight because of the alert raised by one NRI woman. The woman got alarmed because she heard some words which could be translated in 2 ways. One simply meaning the flight was to take off and other being a dangerous one that the plane was about to blow off. She raised the alarm as she felt threatened by Mr.Huda.

Police trying to perform their duties well lodged the FIR very soon and arrested Mr.Huda for questioning. But this questioning went on for two days and Mr.Huda was released after Home Minister P Chidambaram intervened and showed his displeasure over his arrest. And now everyone is criticising police for being inhuman and disrespectful. Mr. Huda is thinking over filing an illegal case against Delhi Police ! I do know his sentiments must have been hurt as he was innocent and has high reputation and respect but then police is not to be blamed altogether.Even this is the fastest case where the police lodged the case and provided with the closure as well.

Now, my point is... Why is everybody criticising them for acting on the FIR and taking the questioning further?? ... what did evryone want??... If they had not taken any action then also they would have been the ones to be blamed. I dont blame the police totally in this case.... they just did what was required but yes they should have handled it with sensitivity !! what I gather from the whole scene that where they went wrong is ...

* Though they lodged the FIR and acted upon it and took Mr.Huda for questioning they
should have handled it with sensitivity and respectfully.

*During the questioning they should have taken care that they dont disrespect the person as the charges were yet to be proved and it was just the questioning round.

*The time taken was too long and made the insult even worse.

*He should not have been taken to the jail as questioning could have been done in security check rooms at airport and even if it was required it should not have been for two days.

There needs to be proper procedures and ways for all this as India is now no more just any other developing country and anywhich ways laws should not be such to hurt the sentiments and respect of countrymen.

Scorching Summers Back in Delhi :O !!

Its sooo damn hot !! U just cant step out of your home and today seemed to be like the worst and the hottest day !! I seriously sympathize with the people out there who have to go out in this heat and work ... who have to move from one place to another and spend almost whole day on the roads or travelling. People standing outside offices and waiting for their work to be done and thier turn to come in this blistering sun. To earn their livelihoods they are sweating out and bearing with this polluted air which is just too much to take. Its not just the sun... its the pollution and vehicular emissions plus the heated air thrown out by home cooling appliances... Someone needs to take some measures to keep it in check otherwise its going to get worse than this !!

One major concern of the concerned authorities should be the coming CommonWealth Games which is just round the corner. I read somewhere Beijing started this campaign to clean the air and get it free from the dust particles and micro pollutants way ahead the games.... and I must mention it was not just months before the games but was around 2 years before the Games. And even though they did it so much in advance they needed to be very strict about it. Come to think of it that India is left with only 4 months and still no measures have been taken. It seems like this issue is not at all on the list of the Government Authorities taking care of the arrangements for the Commonwealth Games. I wonder how the Host and the Guests are going to manage all of it !! Still hoping for the best and as such India is the Land Of Miracles ... I end my today's writeup here...

Lets talk about something InTeReStiNg ... :D ... yes yes... rite... something from the Entertainment Quarter... Movies :) !! Guess what .... much talked about movie " I Hate Luv Stories's " first look is out....

It looks refreshing,cute and mushy !!

Ofcors it has to be coz widout those lovey dovey and cute mushy looks how can a love story be a LOVE STORY ??

The looks of it promise it to be one interesting movie... Though the storyline is on the same tracks of A Typical Guy not believing in love and hating love stories whereas A Typical Girl totally into romantic stuff and dreaming about her Prince Charming... her falling in love with him....

Just like the look of this pic ... D guy showing disinterest in Love and the concept of it and d girl reasoning it with.... " Kuch Kuch Hota Hai .. Tum Nahi Samjhoge.... "

The dialogue which was quite a rage when the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was released !! Every Guy n Gurl saying it.... it was popular for many years following the realease of K2H2 !!

From the looks of it ... seems like an interesting storyline or maybe the direction ...editing may make a whole lot of difference.... The actors and the way production of the movie is tackled will make a huge difference... Hope all this makes it a worthwhile movie to watch.... n d best part... its going to be released in JULY .... D bestest month of the Year !! :D

As the movie is about Love Stories... Love obviously is the next thing to talk about....Even though Sonam agreed to being the Mush Queen... many gurls dont .... which almost every girl is like... and come on who does not believe in LOVE ... but yes... there are many Stupid Idiotic people who altogether dont get the concept of Luv.... they just dont understand that.... Love is Just Love .... Simple... Its just plain simple pure feelings of loving and being loved .... without any reasons .... without any conditions.... without any expectations... without any restrictions.... without any games... without any plans... it just happens... its Divine...

Which unfortunately does not exist or is very rare to find....U cant define it or put it in boundations... because True Love has no Reasons .... it just doesnt require any .... :)

A Shrewd Tactician... A Sorted Mind ....

First and foremost i would like to pat my back for coming back to the blog and continuing it on the 3rd Day too !! I must admit Changes of any kind whether in routines or habits are really hard to embrace.... I kept pushing myself for almost 4 hours to come back here.... 3 hours to read the stuff to get something to write about and an hour to start writing :D ... and not forgetting the 3-4 tea and snacks break in this last hour !!

Before moving onto my chosen thought for the day I would like to express my grief over the loss of another great actor who played negative roles in Hindi Film Industry :: Mr. Mac Mohan !!

Most of us remember him for the famous character he played in Sholay.... named Sambha... remember the Gabbar's most recited line :: "Arrey O Sambha... Kitne aadmi the ?? " ...lol... each and every one of us do !!

Its not like he was my favourite or anything but I think he was a great actor who played the roles of a villian brilliantly. And we all can atleast pay tribute to the person who did some great work in the field of Entertainment. He will be remembered for his good work. There is a lot we can write but I would like to keep it short and So I Pray to God... May his soul rest in Peace !!

Moving onto the today's write-up :: A SHREWD TACTICIAN... A SORTED MIND...

The Shrewd Tactician I am talking about here is Mr. Armando Colaco, Head Coach of the Dempo Sports Club based in Panjim Goa. I came across an Interview with Mr. Armando about the tactics used by Dempo to make the team perform well and not lose their confidence. I went through his replies to the questions put by the interviewer and was intrigued by the thinking of this man. It was not like his interview was most talked about or seemed very interesting but captivated my attention completely was :

~~ The clarity of thoughts.....

~~ Understanding of people....

~~ Not letting politics...officials and agents hamper the spirit of the game and completely taking
control of happenings in the team.

~~ Respecting and Accepting them as Individuals despite binding them in a team and motivating
them to perform for the team.

~~ And most importantly... Giving Due Credits to the people who deserved... in place of boasting
about himself and his tactics.

We need more coaches and people like this....

To manage a group of people is not easy and completely boggles the mind but the person who can understand and take into one's attitude those things can do so efficiently and perfectly ! I have seen many a times that people who either for their personal gains or growth likes to mislead their team members or people working in their organisation and dont let them grow as individuals. Also not letting them to catch the best opportunities because that would mean to let them go. Which amazingly Mr.Armando wasn't afraid of !

To get the best results out of people and achieve great results it is necessary to understand an individual and their capabilities. To let them explore what they are best at and following their inner instincts and beliefs. When they move ahead with a confidence in themselves and exploring new horizons for them ... that is when Miracles happen... that is when Legends are Born... because that lets the people do what they truly enjoy and are here for. Because when we enjoy what we do and dont take it as work we are not bound by the time and limits.... instead we constantly strive to better ourselves....hence can excel in that. When a heart and mind is given its space to experiment and reinvent by doing what they enjoy then they surpass ordinary.... and becomes Extraordinary... then the Courage to do the Impossible and Unimaginable springs in an Individual !! Best example of this is Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar .... :)

Its such a pleasure to get to know that India has got such people...

Life's Complicated !!

I wish Life was like the quote I loved to believe in : Life Is a Beautiful Journey... Though sad it may sound but thats not the truth about life...

Life is full of twists and turns which make life a very complicated one. I guess the main reason behind that is Our Minds and People we come in contact with.

Our Minds : Coz thats what is always working and thinking about things that may or may not be true or there. What If...Maybe...Looks Like...Is this... Or That.... these kind of things that are always on our mind never ever enable us to be at peace with the situations and people around. Always confuse us with the things that look as they are and what feels like to be behind what our eyes can see....

People : Coz they are always coming across with a facade and untrue words which makes it hard to believe what they appear to be and what they truly are like. They always approach us with a prejudice and try to interact accordingly and when those prejudices dont prove to be right then again they start to behave without respect. They start to be something else on your face and something else behind your back. I wonder why people just cant be very straight forward about their feelings and thinking and leave the rest to the other person... How they are going to react or take it is not your problem... come on and be mature enough not to complicate things.

But maybe both mind n people is not the main reason... The reason maybe our insecurities or fear to sound like a fool and being made fun of or maybe being rejected and downed by others !! Which restricts us from communicating our true self... Communication is disturbed and that creates misunderstandings and makes it all so complicated....

Still there are many aspects to this... and a lot more to be thought and discussed about... Dont know if people can ever understand and makes Lives Simpler... God Knows !!

The only thing that can be concluded is to do what your heart n you truly feel like doing and just have belief in yourself.... and stop worrying about people coz they themselves are confused and clueless....
